The short version
- Right now we only hold your email address, so we can invite you to the pilot.
- We never sell or share your data, and there are no advertising partners.
- No tracking cookies and no analytics on this site.
- Your data is stored in Germany (European Union), outside South Africa.
- Email hello@getsho.co.za and we'll delete it.
Who we are
Sho is run by Huzaifah Saloojee (Huz), its founder, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Huzaifah Saloojee is responsible for your personal information and is the Information Officer under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). For anything about your data, email hello@getsho.co.za.
What we collect today
Sho isn't open yet. When you join the pilot list we keep:
- your email address
- which “Join the pilot” button you used, and when
- whether we've sent your confirmation email, and later whether we've invited you and you've joined
To stop abuse of the sign-up form, our server briefly checks your IP address to limit repeated attempts. It isn't stored with your email. Our hosting provider keeps standard security logs for a short time.
This site sets no tracking cookies, runs no analytics and loads no advertising. Fonts are served from our own site, not from a third party.
Why we collect it
Only to send you a confirmation, invite you to the pilot when your spot opens, and send you pilot news. We rely on your consent, which you give by joining the list. You can withdraw it any time.
Who helps us run Sho
These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:

Because these are outside South Africa, we only use providers bound by data protection laws or agreements that give protection similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until you ask us to remove it, or until 12 months after the pilot ends, whichever comes first. If you create a Sho account, it moves to your account and you can delete it there.
When the Sho app opens
Before we invite anyone, we'll update this policy with the full details and tell you by email. These commitments won't change:
- We never ask for your banking password or connect to your bank accounts.
- From receipts, alerts, SMSs, screenshots and statements we keep only repeat charges: who you paid, how much and when.
- Balances, other transactions and account numbers are never stored. Uploaded files are deleted as soon as we've read them.
- Full email bodies aren't stored, only the details we extract.
- One button in the app deletes your account and all your data straight away.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@getsho.co.za and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator.
Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted between your browser and our servers, and in our database. Only the founder can access the pilot list. If there's ever a breach that affects you, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For important changes, we'll email you first.
